Charging Fit is CurrentWise’s free starting point for home EV charging. Tell us about your EV, how much you typically drive, and how long your vehicle is parked at home.

We use that information to estimate the Level 2 charging setup that is likely to fit your routine, including a recommended charging level and, when useful, a simpler lower-power option.

Charging Fit is based on your vehicle and charging needs. It does not evaluate your electrical panel or determine whether electrical work is required.

Your Charging Fit gives you a personalized starting point for home charging based on your EV and routine, including:

• Your recommended Level 2 charging level
• An estimated charging pace
• A simpler lower-power option when appropriate
• Context on your vehicle’s charging capability

It is designed to help you understand how much charging power you are likely to need before discussing electrical work with an installer.

Charging Fit is free and focuses on your charging need. It uses your EV, daily driving, and time at home to estimate the Level 2 charging setup that fits your routine.

The Home Charging Review goes further by looking at your actual home. It is a personalized, human-reviewed assessment using panel information, electrical-load details, photos, and a quote if you have one. It identifies the charging path worth considering, alternatives worth comparing, and questions to confirm with your installer.

Start with Charging Fit. If your home, quote, or installation options deserve a closer look, you can then choose the Home Charging Review.

Consider a Home Charging Review when you want to understand how your recommended charging setup fits your actual home, especially if:

• You have been told you may need a panel upgrade
• You received a quote you want help evaluating
• Panel capacity or available breaker space may be constrained
• You want to compare lower-cost or right-sized alternatives before approving larger work
• You simply want an independent second look before installation

Not every Charging Fit result needs a Home Charging Review.

If you choose the paid review, you receive a personalized five-page Home Charging Review with:

• A recommended home charging path
• An evidence-based assessment of the home information and photos you submit
• Alternatives worth comparing
• A preliminary NEC-based load worksheet and the assumptions behind it
• Questions and remaining details to confirm with your installer

The Home Charging Review is separate from your free Charging Fit result.

If you choose to go further, the personalized Home Charging Review is currently $29 as a one-time review. Some participating partners may provide the Home Charging Review at no cost to the customer.

Yes. An installer quote is not required.

The Home Charging Review can evaluate the home information you provide, identify a charging path and alternatives worth considering, and highlight questions to confirm before electrical work is approved.

You can include or upload the quote with your Home Charging Review submission.

CurrentWise can use the quote context alongside your submitted home information to identify questions, alternatives, or items worth discussing with your installer. The review does not replace the installer’s final electrical determination or design.

Charging Fit does not determine whether your home needs a panel upgrade. It focuses on how much charging power is likely to fit your driving routine.

The Home Charging Review goes further by evaluating the home information you provide, including panel details, major electrical loads, photos, quote context, and preliminary load information. It can identify whether a panel upgrade appears worth considering and whether right-sized charging or EV load management may be alternatives worth evaluating first.

Final electrical design, load calculations, code compliance, and installation decisions should be confirmed by a licensed electrician.

The preliminary NEC-based load worksheet organizes the submitted information used to estimate existing household electrical demand and compare potential EV charging loads.

It shows the major assumptions and inputs behind the recommendation, including panel information, household loads, and the charging paths being evaluated.

It is a planning-level analysis rather than a permit calculation. Final appliance details, local calculation requirements, and site conditions are confirmed before installation.

Charging Fit is generated from the vehicle and routine information you submit. A free Charging Fit result does not receive human review.

The Home Charging Review is human-reviewed using the charging needs, home context, panel photos, major electrical loads, quote details, and future plans you submit.

Reviews are overseen by David Streitfeld, who has more than 15 years of experience across EV charging, solar, home energy, and energy technology.

CurrentWise provides independent planning guidance and does not sell equipment or receive equipment referral incentives.

Charging Fit takes only a few minutes to complete.

For the Home Charging Review, most homeowners complete the information intake in about 10–15 minutes, provided they have panel photos and basic home information available.

The personalized Home Charging Review is normally delivered within 24 hours after the required information is submitted.

CurrentWise may ask for clarification or an additional photo when it would materially improve the recommendation.

CurrentWise will identify the missing or uncertain information and may ask for clarification or additional photos before completing the review.

When a reasonable planning-level recommendation can still be made, the review will clearly identify the assumptions used and any remaining verification items.

If the information is too incomplete or inconclusive to provide a meaningful review, the payment will be refunded.

No. CurrentWise provides independent planning guidance to help you understand your charging need, compare practical paths, and evaluate whether a proposed upgrade appears necessary.

It is not a permit approval, stamped electrical calculation, utility approval, onsite inspection, or replacement for a licensed electrician. The installer remains responsible for final calculations, equipment selection, permitting, and installation design.

If the submitted information is too incomplete or inconclusive for CurrentWise to provide a meaningful Home Charging Review, the payment will be refunded.

CurrentWise may request clarification or additional photos before making that determination. Refunds are not based solely on disagreement with the recommendation.

Vehicle and routine information submitted for Charging Fit is used to generate your result. Home information, panel photos, quote details, and other project information submitted for a Home Charging Review are used to complete that review, request clarification, provide support, and improve the CurrentWise review process.

CurrentWise does not sell or rent submitted homeowner information or panel photos to third parties.

Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider, and CurrentWise does not store full payment card information.
